Why are titles in Scotland not assigned title numbers?

In Scotland, titles are not assigned title numbers because ScotLIS (Scotland's Land Information Service) does not provide ownership boundaries, which would include title numbers. Unfortunately, we are not aware of any plans for this policy to change.
