How to filter planning applications

Learn how to build filters in the planning app.

There are three filters you can use on SearchLand. The first and easiest are our quick toggles at the top of the left-hand control panel. These allow you to

  • Show planning boundaries

  • Show residential applications only (where the application relates to 1 unit or more).

If you're looking for more control, you'll want to use our wider filters shown under the 'add filters' button. In the planning tool, this will allow you to filter by:

  • Reference

  • Proposal

  • Number of dwellings

  • Decision

  • Case officer

  • Application type

  • Address

  • Received date

  • Decision date

  • Area of planning outline

  • Agent name.

The third filter, which is highly recommended, is to set the search area to the council that you are looking in. To do this, click on the pop-out at the top of the map and select the relevant area.

If you build a set of filters you like, be sure to save these for easy access!
